Floyd Residence - Front Yard and Entry Rebuild

Located near VCU, the entry vestibule of a converted parsonage needed restoration and the exterior required a new retaining wall + hardscaping. The home’s original double entry doors were lost at some point over its 100+ year history. The focus of the restoration was to bring back the vestibule’s wood paneling, install custom milled door trim to match original trim, and install new interior  and exterior french doors with transoms. Both sets of doors were custom fabricated and over 8’ tall. While the interior doors reflect a simple modern design, the exterior door’s material and detailing draws from historic entry doors in the neighborhood. Both handrails and awning were designed and fabricated by the homeowner.
